If you’re not ready to let go of beach season yet, the good news is that you don’t have to! Port Aransas has warm, sun-filled days throughout the fall that are perfect for spending on the sparkling Gulf shores. Since peak tourism season is over, you can enjoy all that fall in Port Aransas offers with half the crowds.
Texans know that fall is the perfect time to enjoy Port Aransas without the sizzling summer heat or the crowd of visitors. If you’re looking for a sun-filled escape this fall season, here are a few reasons why Port Aransas should be on your list.
Wide, Open Beaches
Throughout the fall, visitors to Port Aransas can enjoy miles of open beaches perfect for swimming, walking, or jogging. With the lower humidity and cool, salty breezes, you’ll have all the beauty of the summer with better weather and fewer crowds.
Port Aransas has an excellent selection of fall events, like Beachtober, where you’ll discover new things to do each weekend. From live music to spooky Halloween celebrations to the historic Wooden Boat Festival, there’s family-friendly fun to be had on the sunny shores of Port Aransas.
If you’re a foodie, why not sample some seasonal flavors with a picnic on the beach? Port Aransas allows small campfires (3 feet by 3 feet), so you can bring a blanket and enjoy a memorable sunset dinner while listening to the gentle crashing of the waves. Some seasonal foods to enjoy during the fall are apples, figs, pears, and of course, all things pumpkin.
From October 13-16, join the Taco and Margarita Trail, part of the Beachtober celebration. Participating restaurants serve up their best taco and margarita pairings for the visitors of Port Aransas to chow down on at extraordinary prices. Since the summer crowds are gone, you can get a real taste of Port A with shorter wait times and lines compared to summer.
Port Aransas loves getting into the Halloween spirit. Join in on the spooky fun on October 13 and 14 at Horror Movie Nights for two evenings of thrills and chills with screenings of horror classics. This is a free event, but donations are gladly accepted.
During Halloween weekend, check out Halloween Fest at Cinnamon Shore, one of Port Aransas’ events that the whole family can attend. This includes games, a DJ, trick or treating, and a screening of the Halloween favorite, Hocus Pocus.
